Sub-Zero Appliance Repair
The Sub-Zero Freezer company was established in 1945 by Westye Bakke in Madison, WI. Westye started experimenting with refrigeration in the 1930's as a way, in part, to find a solution to storing insulin for his young son, Bud. In 1943, Westye built his first prototype freestanding freezer out of scrap metal, bending the coils by hand, in his basement. The first system for preserving food at ultra-low temperatures, literally sub-zero, was released in 1945. The company quickly established a reputation for quality and innovation. Westye believed that if you build the best, highest quality refrigeration, the product would have the reliability and the staying power competitors units did not have, and so, you would always have customers.
Sub-Zero has always believed the form should follow function, creating a bold design that is one of the most imitated in the industry. Sub-Zero pioneered the concept of integrated built-in refrigeration that seamlessly blends in with the décor, allowing the customer almost countless choices. Legendary architect Frank Lloyd Wright, having been impressed with the innovative design, commissioned Sub-Zero appliances for the visionary homes he designed.
Continuing to be inspired by Westye principals, Sub-Zero manufactures their appliances in their 4 US manufacturing facilities in Wisconsin, Kentucky and Arizona, using premium grade materials, state of the art technologies, and the kind of craftsmanship that can be expected from the finest high-end brands. Sub-Zero's appliances are designed to last a minimum of 20 years, almost two times longer than the average life span of their competitors, with every aspect of the design subjected to extreme stress testing, creating an appliance designed to prolong food life, prevents hasty spoilage of fresh food, and minimizes freezer burn.
Today, under the stewardship of the third-generation of the Bakke family, Sub-Zero's focus remains consistent: industry-leading innovation and design, creating the best-in-class luxury appliances.
