Samsung Appliance Repair
In 1938, Byung-chul Lee founded Samsung Sanghoe in Daegu City, a small trading company dealing in locally-grown groceries, dried fish, and noodles. After almost 10 years of prosperity, Lee moved the head office to Seoul in 1947, and along with Hong-jai Cho, the founder of Hyosung Group, founded the Samsung Trading Corporation in order to diversify into other industries. With the start of the Korean War in 1950, Samsung having become one of the largest "trading companies" in Korea, relocated to Busan. After a few years, due to a disagreement over the direction of the company, Byung-chul Lee and Hong-jai Cho agreed to split the company into several independent companies including Samsung Group and Hyosong Group, among others.
In the late 1960's, Samsung Group entered the electronics industry, and in 1969, established a subsidiary, "Samsung-NEC", with NEC Corporation and Sumitomo Corporation to produce home appliance and audiovisual devices, producing their first washing machine, and refrigerator in 1974, and their first microwave in 1978. During this period, Samsung saw unprecedented growth, and began exporting their products for the first time, as well as opening their first overseas sales office in the United States. In 1984, Samsung changed their name to "Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.", and in 1987, the founders' son Kun-hee Lee took over as chairman, having succeeded his father after Byung-chul's passing. It was during this period that Samsung challenged themselves to become one of the world's top 5 electronics companies.
Today, Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. is a leading manufacturer of major home appliances, as well as being the world's largest manufacturer of mobile phones and smartphones. Given their decades long relationship with electronics, Samsung became an industry leader in the "Smart Appliance" category and currently has a full line of major appliances that are wi-fi enabled and Smart Home compatible. Samsung continues to be an industry leader, building on their founders' ideals of striving to become a world leader in every industry.
